Beginning to plan a trip to Mexico with wife and son for May 2010. My wife is looking for the nice white sand beaches and the boys are looking for the nice golf courses. We have been to Cabo San Lucas already. Cancun and Cozumel appear too touristy and the few golf courses don't seem appealing.
Any suggestions that will satisfy the beach and golf? We are open to almost any location (except Northern Mexico).
Thanks for any suggestions and input.

All Mexican tourist spots are touristy - that's the way Fonatur plans them. In any case, if what you are looking for is prime beach and golf, (as opposed to anything related to Mexican history and culture) you really can't do better than Cabo, and Cabo has never been cheaper than it is this year. There is nowhere else in Mexico where the golf venues approach those in Cabo. As far as beaches go - Almost any coastal vacation spot in Mexico has good/great ones. Also, if in Cabo, certainly go for some sport-fishing.

I agree with the previous poster that anywhere on the beach with a golf course is going to be touristy. Apart from tourists, only the very rich here can afford to play golf!
Your one consolation is that May is a relatively low season.
I know nothing about golf, but have you looked at this web site?

try Punta Mita. Both Four Seasons and St Regis there and up to 5 golf courses planned..I think at least 2 are open
