I apologize if this has been discuss previously; Thank you in advance for your help. I have never made a reservation using BW points; I have a couple of questions:

1. Can I do the reservation on-line?
2. When I called the reservation line (via phone) I am asked for a credit card for "other charges" and "incidentals"; I understand the incidentals but what are the "other charges"; she told me she does not know. Has anybody had a problem reserving with points in Paris? Will the "other charges" be $5, $50 or $200? What stops the hotel from charging me $200 in addition to giving up the points? Since many BW are privately owned it can be a hit or miss.

I would appreciate some clarification and re-assurance if somebody has reserved before and things went well.
I am looking at the BW Premier Au Manoir at St. Germain de Pres in Paris.
thank you

You can (and should) do it on-line. You have to enter credit car info, but you will read directly under it:

Note:
This information is used for incidentals only.

If you feel safer, print that reservation page, with the note.
Or you can send an e-mail to the hotel with your question, and print out the answer.

We had plenty of pre-paid or point based reservations in many US, European, Asian cities, never seen any extra charges at check-out.

What will prevent them to put extra charges on your card? The same thing that prevent any decent hotels to do this, regardless of the way of reservation.

Bon voyage!
