Mileage Run Discussion - Looking for 3+ Segment Run out of PHL by 25 Dec

Greetings,

I'm looking to lock up status on US next year with the help of this promotion (http://shopping.usairways.com/en-US/dividendmiles/promotions/race_to_preferred.html?c=dm_txt_00726&re=1) and need six segments or 7,264 BIS miles (less likely) by Dec 25th to keep Gold. I'm also looking to use up a soon-to-expire $200 off VDB bump certificate, good to any coach fare, as part of this, to offset the cost of this and keep the wife, who of course views this as borderline crazy, content that I won't be blowing away too much cash.

I can travel either next weekend (19-20 Dec) or 23-25 December. Unfortunately that puts me inside the 14 day fare limit (doh). I'll go anywhere ... ideas appreciated.

Thought I'd update ... got PHL-LAS-PHX-SNA on 19 Dec and SNA-LAS-PHX-PHL on 20 Dec for $287.50 all in ($87.50 with the voucher I mentioned above). With preferred minimums, this should net me around 6,250 EQMs with status minimums and about 4,688 bonus miles based on status if I did the math correctly (US Platinum gets 75%). 10,938 miles for $87.50 out of pocket ($0.008/mile) seems a nice deal plus it gets me the segments I need. Here's hoping for no IRROPS ...
