Any recommendations on vacation apartment rentals for up to 3-4 people in Tel Aviv near beach and nightlife? Would also welcome comments on best gay bars and restaurants within Tel Aviv and other visitor spots within Israel.
Has anyone traveled within the West Bank...interested on thoughts about visiting there too.
Petra (Jordan) vs. The Pyramids (Egypt) for a two-day side tour?
Thx!
Good question. We will be there at the end of May. Any tips about Jerusalem?
h, I am so jealous! I was just in Tel Aviv and J'lem a little while ago with 13 other gays, and we had a terrific time!
The gay beach is the one facing The Hilton Hotel.
If you're in Tel Aviv on Saturday night, then you must not miss the gay party at Chich Beach, on the beachside of Carlton Hotel.
On Friday night, there is the Big Boys' Party in Jaffa (location changes every week, I guess). But ask around and you'll know.
On Sunday, there is Evita. Watch some Eurovision on youtube first, and you'll love this place! The party doesn't get going until nearly midnight, but there is nice cafe food in which you can indulge beforehand.
On Mondays, there is Lima Lima. Again, doesn't get packed until midnight-ish, but when it's packed, it's hot like a #&$% set! Hot guys galore!
Aside from that, we found that every single cafe, bar, or restaurant that we visited was super-gay friendly, and everyone was welcoming.
If you want some good drinks, go to FURMAN [first syllable rhymes with POOR], on Allenby St and Ben Yehuda St in Tel Aviv. Ask the owner about the photos on the wall, and try some absolutely amazing zuchinni falafel with a surprise center! And for some delicious meaty food, try , also on Allenby.
If you want something more upscale, then definitely try [B]HERBERT SAMUEL restaurant or Madonna's favorite LaBrasserie off Rabin Square.
Let me know if you have any questions. And safe travels!

Regarding a side trip, I have been to Petra a couple times and it's very nice. But I think the Pyramids would be more impressive. Have a great trip and send us a trip report when complete!
