Korea - ICN Seoul Layover

Hi Folks,

I arrive from JFK into ICN at 5.10 am on a Saturday on OZ and leave at 3.15 pm for PEK. I've chosen a longer connection since I'm keen to see Seoul.

Having done some research I see that there are transit tours from ICN, but most of then start at 9 am. Is there something that starts earlier? My top choice is to see the DMZ, and my 2nd choice is to see some spots in the city

Couple of questions.
1. Any tour company that does the DMZ in these hours?
2. If I get to the city myself and do the hop-on hop-off tour, what's the latest that I should be back at ICN?
3. Will OZ check-in my luggage all the way through
4. Would love your ideas and suggestions.

PS: I do realize that some of this is covered in prior threads, but given the odd hours of my transit, I decided to post this specific question.

I'm sorry nobody gave you any feedbacks. I assuming you already made this trip. I hope DMZ was a good tour.

I did a similar tour in August (though for 5 more hours at the end) and it was plenty of time to see stuff. I ended up taking the train into town (via Gimpo) and found plenty to do. I very much enjoyed the fish market (though it was quiet on a Sunday) and a walk-through of the Gahoi-dong neighborhood in central Seoul. It has a number of traditional hanok homes. Quite quaint and manageable in the middle of the big city. I think I spent maybe $50 total for all that, including a couple snacks and all the train transfers I needed.

I chose to hit the lounge and shower before heading to the train. I was quite happy I did so. It also took enough time that the trains had started running; they aren't operational in the very early morning hours.

I think that the time is too tight to get to the DMZ.

Thanks for that info and link. My sister had 10 hrs on tues w the family, and I sent her that. Any other info would be appreciated.
