Suggestions - No Forum Section For Air Miles Rewards Scheme

Can the moderators explain why this forum has no section for Air Miles collectors when I originally collected some of my never redeemed Air Miles on BA flights and this is a product run by a wholly owned BA Subsidary (The Mileage Company) that also operates its own scheme for BA's regular business class travellers (BA Miles)
Since Air Miles allow us to travel mainly on BA and to some lesser extent on other airlines I see no good reason for the scheme to be completely disenfranchised by Flyertalk (after all Air Miles collectors do actually fly, albeit only very occasionally in many cases given the quite ludicrous redemption restrictions of the scheme) and not have a section of its own in this forum.
I look forward to the comments of the forum's management team.

You don't need a moderator to answer that. The quick answer is that no one has ever requested a new forum for this topic, or provided the documentation that one is needed. That falls under the purview of the Talk Board. You'll see many requests for new forums in the Talk Board forum, most being denied. If you can demonstrate a need that FT requires such a forum, start a new thread over there.

What tom911 said.
If you can demonstrate the need of such forum by FTers' activities & demand, you may go to TB Topics Forum and start a thread. If you decide to do so, read this thread as well:

FWIW, currently Air Miles discussion is housed in British Airways Executive Club Forum (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club-446/), from what I can see.

I checked the first 7 pages of that sub forum and only BA Miles were being discussed. BA Miles are not Air Miles and the terms for redemption and the mileage required on each route is also completely and utterly different.

If you "search" within that forum you can find airmiles threads. Here's some I found just since September using the search term "airmiles".
Very happy Airmiles customer (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/1012448-very-happy-airmiles-customer.html)
100% Tesco to Air Miles bonus! (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/1013497-100-tesco-air-miles-bonus.html)
Your Airmiles are about to expire (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/996618-your-airmiles-about-expire.html)

Not correct.

1. Correct. I am aware BA miles are not Air Miles. Each program has its own terms.
2. There are not that many airmiles threads (yet) so you have to search in BA Forum to find the discussion threads.
3. See the example threads tom911 just referenced, using "airmiles." You may want to ask BA Forum mods what are better key words to locate more Air Miles threads.

There are not that many airmiles threads (yet) so you have to search in BA Forum to find the discussion threads.
The reason for that is because it is not an appropriate place for such threads as the BA Miles and Air Miles schemes now have nothing at all in common in terms of the collection rules or redemption terms and I along with most forum users are not prepared to scrabble through pages of BA Miles threads in order to find an occasional one on Air Miles. The Air Miles scheme does have a lot of collectors but much less in the way of flyers because of the ludicrously restricted flight availability for those wanting to redeem them.
See the example threads tom911 just referenced, using "airmiles." You may want to ask BA Forum mods what are better key words to locate more Air Miles threads.
The only acceptable solution is for Air Miles to have their own separate discussion forum.

Well, then you better get over to the Talk Board forum and sell them.

OK thanks Tom. I was only fed up that Air Miles always seems to now be a total after thought by BA and that the fact it does not have its own separate loyalty scheme section is another sign of this.
I did find the thread on conversion rates from Tesco etc interesting. I have a lot of Tesco vouchers I was saving towards Clubcard deals and then never realised they set an expiry date on them. I think I need to talk to Tesco customer services and see if I can persuade someone them to re-issue the expired ones.
If I can do that I may convert the whole lot to Air Miles at the double conversion rate as I have never converted any to Air Miles before and the Tesco Clubcard deals are usually ended before you have collected enough vouchers and/or some of your vouchers expire along the way.
Its kind of frustrating that the best value on using Air Miles is in the 750 miles domestic and northern EU zone though as I usually never want to fly to those places. If I travel to Scotland I would normally also take my car with me......
