According to Wikipedia, JL flies "scheduled charters" to ULN (Ulan Bator, Mongolia) from NRT.

However, they are not shown in any of the JL timetables or schedules, as far I could find.

Anyone know if/when JL flies this route?

I searched and there was an old thread from 2004, which concluded that JL doesn't fly to Mongolia. I am curious, though b/c of the wiki site and also AA awards claiming that Mongolia is a possible destination.

I can't think of any other AA partners that would serve Mongolia, though, so it must be JL?

They did. At least in the past.

According to this press release back in 2007. JAL planned to operate 8-10 charter flights to Mongolia in 2007...I am not sure how to reserve seats on those flights though...probably through a travel agent

Thanks, JALPak. I'm going to give JL a call sometime and see if they can give some more details. Will report back with how that goes.

Just a bit of advice as one who has flown into ULN several times. If the JAL flight doesnt work out, DO NOT fly through Beijing on CA. KE through Seoul may cost more, but you can count on the flight actually happening. CA stranded me in ULN because of weather, when every other airline (KE included) continued flights. CA didn't communicate with us, put us in a horrible hotel, and their equipment was questionable. Korean Air is the only option for Mongolia, IMHO.
