Looking forward to the first flight. Until then, it's the Dream-on liner.

Any time a company says "end of December," I think "January." Much as "2009" sounds a lot better than "2010" in this context, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Still, I'd like to be proved wrong.

Hope I'm wrong, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the 787 will experience major problems with the composites after several years in service.

Boeing may have bet the farm on the wrong horse.

From The Wall Street Journal, NOVEMBER 19, 2009, 2:04 A.M. ET

SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)--Boeing Co. (BA) is planning the first flight of its long-delayed 787 Dreamliner around Dec. 22, a person familiar with the situation said Thursday.

"It is now scheduled to take to the sky on Dec. 22, give or take a couple of days. I don't think this will change much," the person told Dow Jones Newswires.

Boeing is under intense pressure to get the Dreamliner aloft.

Wonderful! I'm glad to hear it. I can't wait to see 787 into the air for first-time ever. Sorry that I was unable to watch the video for this time where I will be gone to Europe for weeks. I will try to check it out for next day in ZRH and when I can turn it on the laptop to read the forums. I will tell you everything all about it. Besides, I won't read the forums during 24 hours for flying.
