I have 35,000 miles and the option of cashing in 35,000 miles more or taking £350 cash instead.

Which is the better deal?

I do not really fly on Virgin.

Obviously is the £350!

With the taxes going up and up again, the value airline miles/points went down the hill, especially if you fly from the UK (I assume you are, because you are using sterling currency in the question).

I am collecting Airmiles instead of VS miles now, at least Airmiles covers all the taxes (even if that means I need to fly with BA).

Thanks.

I guess I had the lingering hope that there might be something useful I can do with the miles that I do have and am stuck with, and that I might need a few more - i.e. my miles that I have have a value, and while 1p/mile to buy more is expensive, if it gives my existing miles some value, it's worth it.

I guess likely not.

Perhaps best just to cash them in for Virgin vouchers @ 0.4p/mile, and then spend them at Le Manoir....
