American Express Membership Rewards - Using AMEX for CDW in USA

I have a real (not a credit card) Amex card issued in Australia.

Is it possible to use it to waive CDW fees by AVIS in Washington State?

Can any one confirm yes or no, and point me to the supporting documentation. It seems my Australian:confused: friends have hidden the small print...

Sounds as though a call to Oz Amex customer service is in order to get the info you want. The U.S. card collision waiver program is pretty good, but, who knows about Oz ... :D

When the OP first posted, I went to the AMEX Australian site and could not find any mention of a CDW benefit, even on the Aussie Plat card.

Perhaps one appears if you're logged in?
