Purchasing fake IPOD / IPHONES.

They seem to work fine on any GSM network.

These are considered clones and sold as clones and copies.
Of course they are probably not as reliable as a real IPOD / IPHONE but how do they work with itunes and applications?

These things are like $40 USD, even if they only work for a year, I think its not that bad of a thing and it works.

The fake iPods and iPhones I've seen for sale in Asia (China, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan) only looked like clones. The controls and UI were crap. No clickwheel for the iPod, crappy menu layout for the iPhone, sometimes huge proportions. Some were so bad you wondered how they could screw it up so. And since the UI is the main appeal for Apple devices, and why they've become a status symbol, it's a rather idiotic purchase imho unless you want something visually similar as a status symbol. Perhaps cheaper to hide a sansa in a pocket and wear white headphones

90% of the Chinese knock off phones that I've seen run the same OS which is simply skinned to look the OS that should be on the legitimate phone. The remaining 10% seem to run a bootleg copy of Windows Mobile.
