Trip Reports - Malaysia Airlines business class photo report KUL-TPE

We took a recent one-way trip from Kuala Lumpur to Taipei on Malaysia Airlines in their business class and were seated in the upper deck of the 747. This is a photo report of that flight.

The seats are quite comfortable and I dare say that there is more space and recline than seen in the Japan Airlines shell seat (not the neo, but the 747 version). The colours are nice and relaxing. The seat back has places for storage including for your water bottle. Their AVOD is not part of the seat back, rather, it comes up from the centre partition a la several other business class cabins.

They provide a pillow and thin blanket as well as slippers on this 4 hour flight.

The meal service was not bad for the short flight, but servings were a tad small and they only loaded "3 nasi lemak", per the flight attendant, for the entire business class. That was a bit disappointing given that this is "Malaysia Airlines"!
The other options were a chicken dish and an omelette.
They did have some nice tropical fruit juices on offer, and service began with these and yoghurt and a choice of pastries and croissant.
This was followed by the main and then a cake for the sweet at the end.

I flew this exact routing in F class last year with Malaysia and can report that the catering (with the exception of the beverages) is identical in business and first for this segment.
The only difference between the two classes is the absence of the tray underneath in F and colour of the tablecloth and napkin - even the dishes and cutlery are identical.
The service was excellent throughout and the flight was very comfortable overall.

Thanks for reading and comments are welcome!

What a wonderful trip report! It certainly makes me consider MH when I first fly business :D I still have to wait for that though since I am a student. :D Unless somebody wants to take me for a journey around the globe :D

That is interesting re: the AVOD in the center console rather than the seat ahead. It looks so unusual to find a little tray-table there where the screen usually is (wonder what you could use if for since it's not really accessible when you're sitting down). The photos look great.

Thanks for the compliments!

I used a Canon 50D with a wide-angle lens for those pictures. I just purchased the new 7D and will have a go with it on the next trip.
