Hello,

I want to book a stay at the Hilton.
So far I have always used Advance Purchase or Reward Stays.

I need to be able to cancel my reservation.
Could somebody explain me the difference between:

BED AND BREAKFAST FLEXIBLE RATE, INCLUDES BREAKFAST

and

BEST AVAILABLE RATE BEST UNRESTRICTED RATE (does this include breakfast?)

Thank you!

If the rate description sez it includes breakfast then it includes bstreakfa. If not then no included breakfast unless you are a HH VIP elite.

Thanks!
But do you know the cancelation policy on both ones?
Is the price fixed on both, or it can change?

You must read the rules. Click on all the links (three as I remember) on the HH room choice page.

Small correction to Mr. Nice's post. Only Gold or higher VIPs are eligible for free breakfast. VIP free breakfast is ONLY if you pick this as your MYWAY option. Otherwise, breakfast is not part of benefits.

Hi,

I have booked the:
BED AND BREAKFAST FLEXIBLE RATE, INCLUDES BREAKFAST

so that I can cancel (just in case).

I am a SILVER VIP.

Is there anything I should be aware of, with this rate?

Thank you.

The cancellation policy will be on your reservation towards the bottom.

As long as it specifies "Flexible Rate you are generally OK with changing or cancelling, though there may be a specific time allowed for cancellation - same day, 6 PM, 24 or 48 hours are not unusual, and longer can also be encountered. Read the terms and conditions always, and clicking on the room, rate that are offered will show you further details.

With B&B flexible rate, you assuredly get breakfast included. With HHonors Silver, you get to purchase breakfast for the selling price - as you would with Best Available / Best Unrestricted Rate, unless in a Hampton with Unidentified (egg-shaped) Frying Objects or Embassy Suites or the like; a number of European properties include breakfast in many rates because it is customary in some countries, and they wish to remain competitive. (In many properties, Gold or Diamond are entitled to Continental breakfast if they do not have lounge access, but most properties actually offer some form of hot, cooked or buffet breakfast IME.)

Read on in this Forum, and you will soon be earning, or at least lusting after, Gold or higher. :D

The cancellation policy is not a standard thing, so you need to check the rate you are booking to see what the policy is. Sometimes it's 6 pm the day before, other times it's several days before, etc.

Once you make a reservation, the price is fixed. They will not charge you more if the rate does increase, nor will they charge you less if the rate drops. You can modify the reservation and rebook it at the lower rate and you will get the lower rate, but it will not happen on it's own. But once you make the reservation, that's the price you will pay, Hilton won't change it on you.

Thanks Mike!

That's what I wanted to know and it's fine for me.
If case comes to cancel, it will be days before.

It's a bit of a complex trip so I wanted to make things flexible.
I need to drive from CLJ to BUH (Budapest), than fly to MMX (Malmo, Sweeden), and from there rent a car and take a short drive to Jonkoping to hold a presentation. And back :)

Originally I wanted to go via Stockholm, but I eventually found cheaper and shorter flights to Malmo, and the Hilton in Malmo had a much lower price than the on in Stockholm. Also, Malmo si closer to Jonkoping.

This was one hell of a trip to organise :)
