Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - KF Reward Waitlist

Hopeing some can assist with the reward waitlist procedure, for example if I am flying Sydney-London return and 1 sectore being Singapore is on waitlist do the rest of the sectors confirm or are all pending on waitlist sector, also if this is the case this would mean the available sectors could be gone once the other become available. Also when are fees etc charged and is there are cost if you cancel waitlist and other confirmed sectors while waitlisted?

From my experience ..

When a flight is waitlisted, the other flights stay confirmed. If the waitlisted flight is not confirmed by the waitlist deadline (usually 2-3 days after you make the reservation), the entire booking is cancelled and you need to make a new booking. In my experience, the deadline extends automatically if there is a good chance of clearing the waitlist.

There is no fee to cancel a booking with a waitlisted flight - this is because the ticket has not been issued.

When the waitlisted flight becomes available, you need to goto the website, confirm the booking, enter your credit card details etc in order to get the ticket issued.

I didn't realise that reward flights are not normally waitlisted. Happy to hear that SQ does it as CX waitlists both for upgrade and full redemptions.

I would be happier with SQ if they just allocated more seats to reward flights instead- I've been able to book saver tickets with other *A miles on the same SQ flights that are waitlisted with KF miles...
