Looks like effective mid-February the once a day PHX-RDU nonstop is gone from the schedules.

Despite living in Phoenix and having family in Durham I visit four times a year I've never taken it, now I'll have extra motivation to connect for more miles :D

Tell you what is odd about that--WN only flies 1x/day nonstop. They must trash the yields for US or the traffic is not there.

Which makes sense, really--WN can connect folks to the West Coast thru MDW, DEN, LAS cheaper than US can move 'em via PHX.

Having had more than a passing interest in this routing... is "folks" a synonym for "cattle??"

Yes unfortunately, they couldn't handle on it the competitive against WN. So it will be leave behind for twice daily RDU-PHX on WN. So I can't believe it US will be no longer flies out PHX-RDU and someday in the future if they will bring more potential new routes from PHX hub but, they are missing some of more specific routes.

I think US will consider to bring more new routes for PHX-MHT/CAE/JAX/PBI/JAC/BZN/BIL/GRB/BUF/SYR/MSY and expanded more new international expansions PHX-NAS/KIN/SDQ/CZM/FPO/GDT/PLS/YUL/YYJ/YOW.

Well that blows another one of my backtracking extra-miles routes from DEN-RDU. DL got rid of their SLC-RDU a while back too.

No *A nor ST routings for mile-padding anymore for my regular commute. :(

Yes, unfortunately they didn't workout very well RDU-DEN/SLC due to low-yielding. So it will wait to see if DL will be reinstates RDU-LAX sometime in the future. I know DL will be buildup more potential routes to be reinstates.

Nope.

Or if it was, it's the same folks that US flies on every route into Florida, every route to the Caribbean, every route to LAS, and most routes to PHX.

ouch - i would rarely fly out of RDU, just a little too far from CLT, but originated a few times there this year. Fares were always the best in the area. Earlier this year needed to go CLT-PDX-LGB-CLT, but ended up buying 2 R/T tix from RDU instead (RDU-PDX-RDU and RDU-LGB-RDU). Ended up being MUCH cheaper, and since it was earlier in the year is was 2x PQM too. Time to find a new mileage run city.

Nope.

Maybe I'm just being overly critical... but I will miss that routing.
