You should take on redeye flight out LAX-FLL. You won't get too tired when you returns back home to FLL by 11pm. It will take 12 hours during your entire trip. It will take all-day long during daytrip. This is not specific time for you.

I'd much prefer routing through JFK as you'll get on the 757-200 BE product and free access to the Sky Club (if you don't have it already via some other means and your upgrade clears). (Sample Date Dec 5 with JFK-FLL on Dec 6)

In fact, you'll get better value with a few more segments too ... however you'll get home Sunday afternoon instead.
