Star Alliance - MS C > SQ, OZ? Obviously no, but...

Sorry for the provocative title - I couldn't resist, but I did tone it down from my original thought :D .

This past summer, I flew MS LHR-LXR in C. Not a particularly great flight - seats were the least comfortable C seats I have ever experienced, food was acceptable for C but no better (ignoring the lack of alcohol), service was sufficient.

The pleasant surprise came upon debarking at LXR. Once the plane stopped near the terminal and airstairs were brought up to the plane, a bus pulled up. ONLY the three of us in C were allowed to deplane and enter the bus, which took us to the international arrival area. We were all clear of Customs before the next bus came with the first group of Y passengers.

Why, oh why can't SQ or OZ (or others I'm sure) do the same thing at LAX???

for the FM flight (Shanghai Airlines) i took from HKG-PVG last week, the flight was off-loaded at a remote location. The 5-6 business class passengers on this 757 were taken on a minibus marked VIP (was in a window Y seat looking out) while the rest of us were crammed in an old bus after the VIP bus left for the terminal.

so in addition to MS, FM does it too... although it would be nice at LAX

And it would be even better not needing a bus in the first place.

+1 Agreed.

Although sometimes it saves time in airports like BKK where if you are parked all the way at the end of the one terminal and it takes 20 minutes to walk to immigration/transfer desk...then busing directly to immigration dropoff will look pretty attractive...
