Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - OS LHR - VIE in business
Next week, I'll be connecting at LHR to the OS morning flight to VIE.
I'll be in business. The flight is to operate on the OS A320.
What should I expect in terms of seat comfort and food & beverages
on offer?
Middle seat is blocked in C and you will get a warm meal on LHR-VIE.
That's what I have guessed...
I was on the LH (Augsburg Airlines) flight from MUC to VIE in business.
The had a new plane (Embraerer) but seat pitch was tight and the breakfast
was just appalling.
The flight from LHR to VIE is considerably longer, though. Incidentally, my favourite columnist, Tyler Brule of Financial Times, grumbles today in his 'Fast Lane' Column how all European legacy carriers gave up on providing a differentiated business class product for intra-Europe flights. He was just off his BA flight (on an old B757) from LHR to VIE.
I love VIE (and also MUC, DRS, PRG...) and usually connect in FRA/MUC, getting there on AC. This upcoming trip is a *A reward in business (YUL-LHR-VIE-IAD-YUL), and that was the only choice.

Here's a Business Class meal on LHR-VIE earlier this year but it was a late morning flight.

Yes, I was also on OS452 but the departure was delayed by 105 min and I missed my connection at VIE.:( I was actually expecting breakfast (scheduled departure time was 0925) but as you see it was quite a substantial lunch.

OS has some of the best catering. Prior to its sale to LH, one of OS owners owns one of the best catering companies in Austria.

OS has some of the best catering.
Their caterer is Do & Co, which also provides catering at LH's First Class Terminal/Lounges at FRA and their new lounges at JFK. There's a sign in the cabin which reads "Gourmet Entertainment by Do & Co".

I'll be returning to Canada from VIE on OS via IAD (B767-300) in business, so the catering should be quite inspiring.

Yesterday, I came back from a 4 night weekend in VIE. It was wonderful both on the ground (in the city) and in the air (flying OS in business).
The OS452 from LHR to VIE was on their A320. While the seating is comfortable enough with the middle seat blocked (I happened to have the while bulkhed row), my home airline AC has wider ans more comfy seats for a comparable product. Regarding the catering and personalized service, that's another story. OS beats easily AC.
The long flight OS093 from VIE to IAD was on B767-300. There were 10 open seats and again, I was seated by myself. Again, that extra space makes a lot of difference even if it does not belong to you. The crew was exemplary, and so was the chef. We got several menus, including one just about coffee. Ie was one of the best long haul flights that I have ever taken. ^^^
