Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - 747 vs 777

I recently flew SIN/FRA/SIN in F on a 777-300ER vs a 747 on the same route in F last June.
At the risk of sounding too nostalgic, I shall miss the 747 since it appears that they will soon be history.
The 777 has slightly larger seats, more storage space, a larger screen and more spacious restrooms, but I still do prefer the 747:
-the 747 seats are easier to fully recline (by myself, contrary to the 777)
-the 747 cabin appears more spacious and leaves more room to walk around and stretch
-the dining tray on the 777 is not directly in front of you (making you sit in a rather awkward position while dining).
Interestingly enough, most of the cabin crew also told me that they too will miss the “good’ old” 747.And many frequent-flyer fellow passengers told me that they’ll too…

Totally agree. 747 is my preference too... "Feels" more like first class... 777ER F (just got off from SQ16 an hour ago) is nice, but it's cramped and dark and too close to each other.

Sitting in the ER seats in F or J just isn't that comfortable...

But I guess for J class, the fully flat seat beats the angled lie-flat seat isn' it?

Just back from SQ11/12 (LAX-NRT-LAX) in J on the 747 (17K both ways on the same plane - I recognized the spot on the wall) and I must say that the J seat on the 747 is the single most uncomfortable premium seat I've flown in years. The footrest doesn't go down far enough for anyone over medium height, the angled part of the footrest is slippery making my foot slip off it the entire flight, the controls don't make any sense, and several of my buttons did nothing - maybe the seat was broken? The arm rest by the window was wobbly....... IMHO a HORRID seat.

Having now tried F on the 747 and 77W I can't understand how anyone can prefer the 747 seat over the new 77W version. The 77W seat is much more comfortable for sleeping as it is nice and wide so lets you spread out more rather than having the feeling of sleeping in a coffin. Also it is very comfortable for sitting/lounging as well and you can put your feet up. Plus the seat is more private even if you are a little closer to the neighbours. Finally I like that you can see the FAs coming from in front of you. I hate it on the 747 how they sneak up from behind!!
