bmi diamond club - Seeking reassurance

My wife will need to buy around 34000 miles for our next redemption. Can you reassure me on these 2 points:

1. She can buy 24000 miles in the next few weeks and a further 10000 miles in January. She has not purchased or been gifted any miles in 2009

2. There is unlikely to be any problem (the future of Diamond Club and all that) with booking a redemption in early 2010 for April 2010, subject to availability and the current rules.

Yes the rule is calendar year so you can buy 24k on Dec31 and the same on Jan1 if you like. Any rule changes will almost certainly including some warning time, so you're not taking much of a risk.

Just a suggestion, which won't work if you are also buying near your max: if you have they miles you need and this is say a 37.5k each trip, she can buy the 15k to buy one leg of her trip, and you can by 19k or whatever you need to book her other leg, as well as your own flights.
