The Hyatt Awards chart for Category 1-5 hotels has been updated. See http://goldpassport.hyatt.com/gp/en/awards/index.jsp
Apparently, Hyatt Regency Hong Kong Shatin is a Category 3 hotel; Hyatt Regency Hong Kong TST is a category 4 hotel. :D

I looked thru it and I can't tell any changes. At least in the top couple categories (where I knew most of the hotels off the top of my head), nothing seems to have changed. Although was GH SF always Cat 3, or was it Cat 4 previously? I don't remember.....................

hi,
also new GP Bonus points have been updated!
I'm new to Hyatt. Can one update pre-existing, pre-paid bookings with a G2 code that has just been added for a property?
Thanks.

Glad to see the Auckland Hyatt is still Cat 1. Best value in the system if you ask me.

not a problem. You can call GP and have it added to your reservation or you can have it added when you check in/out. As a newbie may I just remind you to always check your account to make sure the bonus has posted after your stay (it frequently doesn't) . . . if it doesn't post just call GP and they will then add it.

I don't remember either but think it was a Cat 4 - interestingly the HR is Cat 4 while the GH is Cat 3 - I always think the hotels are very comparable (mediocre) and have very similar paid rates.
Nice to see that Vancouver is still Cat 2 - a great value for a property where rates can be near $300 in the summer.
Also great to see that there is no devaluation ^

No change: GH San Francisco is still Category 3 (Category 4: HR San Francisco; Category 3: Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf; Category 2: HR SFO)
Grand Hyatt San Francisco has been a Category 3 for past two years and Hyatt Regency Embarcadero San Francisco a Category 4.
All the hotels in San Francisco/Monterey Bay area are same category as they have been for two years.

Um, if there are no changes, why'd they do it? Seems to me the last "major" update and devaluation was the Hyatt Places and Summerfield Suites, or many of them.
That asked, it's in interesting contrast to the way HHonors is doing theirs. First, an announcement in FT that such was on the way (a shot in the foot), then leaks and confirmation that indeed it meant a devaluation (multiple shots in the foot and higher), and in the face of lots of paid rate reductions in the middle of a recession.
Bravo to Hyatt, again, for apparently at least holding the line. I'll bet that not just a few of us have worried about the other shoe dropping, after all the generosity they've shown this year. In fact, this is such a biggie, IMO, that as gg would say...

In California, most properties HR and above back on the list - conspicuously missing are HP's (except Ontario Mills) and no HR Palm Springs (sorry Trustguy).

Could someone advise how we can tell this is a newly updated list for GP point awards for these properties?

Yes! Very delighted to see all the GX bonuses again in California; will need to add them to my December reservations.
Peteropny, give the HR Embarcadero another try--the rooms (at least RC floors 16 & 17) are very nice now. Maybe I don't get out much, but I have never seen a TV in a bathroom mirror (with remote no less) until my stay here last Saturday. RC is now located in the former Equinox site--probably has the best ambiance & view of any North American RC (IMHO). I haven't stayed there in years but was WOWED. Sorry OT.

Simply because new hotels are now on the awards chart (i.e. Hyatt Regency HK, Shatin and TST). :)
