Looks like there's an LX and an LH lounge in ZRH (http://www.staralliance.com/assets/images/global/services/destination-information/airportinformation/airportmaps/large/ZRH_map_large.gif).

I'm flying at roughly midday (to New York) to start a *A RTW, as it happens; which is the lounge (for a *A Gold) that you'd recommend? (The first leg is with LX, leaving from Heathrow - but I'll be popping into Number 1, which is rather lovely.)

No longer.

You will arrive at Terminal B (by bus). After that you have to go through immigration, which is usually quite fast.

If you have enough time (> 1 hour), you may use the Senator lounge close to Terminal A in the shopping area, upper floor. I would leave from there latest 20 minutes before boarding time. Please ask in the lounge for advise.

Your flight to NYC will leave from Terminal E, which is connected to the other teminals by a 5 minute train ride. You will find a general lounge there as well, which you may use (not as good as the Senator lounge IMHO).

Please note that both lounges are before security check.

Unfortunately the E dock is split in 2, 1 third for US departure and the rest for non-Schengen.

There is no lounge in the US departure portion of the E dock. At all.

The E dock train is a little SNAFUd at the moment as they are working on it for the new central search. Last time I went through E only one line was running.

I'll be flying LH ZRH-MUC in C, then on to BOS on LH in F. I know there is a First Class Lounge at ZRH but will it be accessible for intra-Europe flights?
