Why oh why can we never have these deals out of ATL, BHM, or CLT. Something I could drive to!
It adds $200 at least to it for me to get to a WAS airport!

Those fares to Germany were only up for about 36 hours (even out of ATL), but quickly jumped - before I had a chance to book. I'm looking for any deals to Germany or Swiss on Delta, from any eastern US destination - for Dec 3-8, anyone know of anything now?

Same from the west coast. I should have booked last week. They were barely over $600, now.... a lot more. I can't even go using my miles.

I used to live in Marietta (now in Buckhead), so I definitely feel your pain on this.

I watch TXL fares VERY closely!! I was there 5 times already this year. I was hoping to go again in Dec, hoping the winter fares would come out. When I saw it drop the other day from about $646 to $454, I was ready to jump and buy 3 tickets thru March, and I figured that these were juset winter fares and would be out for a while - - I was wrong, of course. The poster above poster was exactly correct. The fare was available for one day til about mid-day the next day - then poof - it was gone! DL's loss, as far as I'm concerned, as I booked 2 award tix instead of using cash!! I just can't figure out why the winter fares are soooo high this year! I realize that the days of $298 + tax are gone, but I've been payin $500-$540 in the winter the las 2 years - I can live with that. Before this $454 thing, it was $646 - and now that the $454 is gone, it's UP EVEN HIGHER to $755!!!! Yikes!!

I may well look to go the same route and use miles. I did find a PHL to TXL fare of $579 (all in) yesterday, but by this morning, it was gone again as well. I'm planning on Germany or Switzerland in early the first weekend of Dec, and keep scouring about every possible city in the eastern US - Orlando occasionally comes up with some lower fares as well - but nothing like past winters.
