US Airways Dividend Miles - Convert AmEx points to USAir

I have only 25,000 US Air points and don't really fly with them. I need another 25,000. How can I convert American Express points to US Air points without losing some of the points? Is there another creative way to get some US Air points? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Amex Membership Rewards? MR doesn't convert to US at all.

No way without penalty/loss. However, webflyer says you can convert amex->CO ->Amtrak->DM

Open a 2nd Dividend Miles account. (In the name of a trusted friend or family member.) Then, sign up for the current promotion through end of 2009 that allows you to receive a 100% bonus on any miles that are transferred or purchased. Finally, pay USAir to transfter the 25,000 miles to the new account. When the new account receives the bonus, it will contain 50,000 miles. Probably cheaper than trying to buy any miles to top off your account.

You don't need to sign up for this - it's automatic on gifting, buying or sharing.

Sharing 25K to another account netting 25K + 25K bonus in the new account will cost exactly $298.75. In contrast, buying 26K (buying 13K, receiving 13K bonus) will cost $379.38.

Continental is Amtrak's only airline partner.
