I've stayed there a couple of times. Service is generally friendly (although there is one woman in the Executive check-in lounge who is straight out of the refrigerator....cold as ice!). Rooms are ok, not massive but clean and functional. I'm staying there again with my wife and kids in 3 weeks time, so it can't be bad!

Room are smallish, nice though. Executive lounge is nice. They do make a big deal out of taking stuff back to your room which I didn't understand. Was just there one night upgraded to executive floor for both rooms I had as a diamond.

We stayed at the Zurich airport Hilton last week. No trouble with the Gold upgrades to executive floor and use of the lounge - didn't even have to ask for them. The rooms were small and nothing special but clean and functional. The lounge was better than the usual Hilton lounge, including a nonsmoking area - very unusual for Switzerland! The evening snacks were quite good - in fact, pretty much the same as what was served in the appetizers portion of the restaurant buffet downstairs. I have to agree with the earlier post about the Ice Queen receptionist, although she was completely proper - just not very friendly or welcoming. The receptionist at the main desk was excellent - a young woman intern from a Swiss hotel school who was originally from New Zealand. Very helpful with unusual special requests. Finally, there is a wonderful exercise course (a country road through forest and field) just outside the hotel.
Only real negative is that a lot of construction is going on in the hotel.
Hope this information is useful to you!

Stayed there a few times. Good service and nothing to complain. The shuttle to\from the airport was always prompt like most things in Switzerland . Free parking and close the main highway if you driving.
Otherwise, the shuttle will drop you at Airport with a regular train service to Zurich Central train station.

Enjoy your trip!

I just got back in October from an award stay at the Hilton Zurich Airport. It was very close to the airport, and they have free shuttle service from the airport. I found the lobby to be a bit small and cramped, but it could be due to the construction. I was upgraded to the executive floor as a diamond. I actually had 3 rooms reserved for my family and we were all upgraded to the executive floor. I also had a comment in my reservation that I would be arriving at 9am in the morning, since my flight was scheduled to arrive into ZRH at 7:30am. Our flight was almost an hour early (hard to believe, I know)and we breezed through passport control, so we actually arrived at the Hilton at 8am. They were very apoligetic that our rooms were not ready, since they weren't expecting us till 9am. They let us sit and enjoy breakfast in the executive lounge, and our room was ready shortly there after. If you arriving in the early morning, definitly let them know in your reservation, so that they will be ready for you. I am not sure I would have made it that day in Zurich if I wasn't able to come in and catch a few hours of ZZZ's.
I didn't find this hotel to be super luxurious,

I stayed there for 3 nights last week. Got upgraded to the executive floor as a Gold. I must say that the food/drinks was quite nice in the evening. Had a chance to meet the Ice Queen - very professional but cold. I found it quite convenient to take the shuttle to the airport and then take the train to the city. One thing missing was the fitness center/swimming pool but overall, it was a good stay.

I've stayed there and it is about 5-8 minutes from the airport - I didn't notice the aircraft noise especially. It is on a hill above the airport so perhaps that is why. Nice lounge but you cannot take food/drink to your room. Room quite small and hotel busy on weekends.

I stayed there about three months ago, and there was no plane noise that I heard while in my room. The nearest runway approach pattern I observed put planes about a kilometer away. At the time, getting an award issued was a snap, but I am a Diamond so maybe that helped.

BTW, I moved food to my room from the Exec. lounge a couple of times without anyone giving me the evil eye.

I stayed here last October. Hotel staff were quite nice. We did not have any problems with noise from the airport. The shuttle service to and from the hotel to the airport was prompt and efficient. Taking a taxi into the city center was a bit expensive I thought.

As an alternative to taking a taxi to the city, use the train station in the airport. The frequent shuttles from the hotel to the terminals make it easy to coordinate with the train.

You can buy a 24 hour pass that allows you multiple trips on the train, to and from the airport. Once in the city proper, I believe the pass also allows you to use the trolleys. Price is about US$11.

I like the Airport Hilton in Zurich and stay there regularly when I'm back in Switzerland either on business or with my family on vacation. I stayed there last year with my son who had his wisdom teeth extracted. He told the lounge attendant who then (on her own initiative) arranged for bags of ice to be delivered to the room at regular intervals. For this my son was eternally grateful! It was pretty charateristic of the kind of people they have working there.

It's not in the middle of Zurich, however there is a frequent shuttle bus to and from the airport from where there are regular trains to the centre of the city. You can also get trains from the airport to most other major Swiss cities like Lucerne or Fribourg/Lausanne/Geneva. So, although it's not THE most convenient hotel if you want to wander about Zurich city center, it's not in the boonies either.....

I luv the Zurich Hilton but would not suggest it if you want to experience the joy of the city. Why not get a place closer to town so you can avoid the logistical hassles?

If you want to stay with the Hilton family this hotel is great even though it is not in the city. The shuttle to and from the airport runs very frequently and are pretty hassle free and the train from the airport to the city isnt that long either. I didnt find it to be that much of a hassle really. I did like this hotel a lot.....the service was excellent. Everybody there worked extremely hard to take care of whatever we needed. If you dont mind the fact that its not "downtown" then it is a really good hotel. I will be returning for sure.

I stayed there last year for the infamous love parade. The transfers to/from the airport worked fine even during the wee hours and early mornings. The hotel is great and affordable--I was offered a 99Euro/nt special for Gold members. Make sure to try the apple tart in the lounge. :)

Hilton Zurich is ok. Note the shuttle doesnt start early enough for checking in the early flights (fortunately I had checked in the previous day).

While it is a airport hotel and not as convenient to the city as other hotels I do like it. It is in a peaceful area about 10 minutes ride from the airport via the shuttle which runs relatively often. As far as Diamond treatement....I have always been upgraded to an exec level room which is basically a standard room (I think) on an exec floor. There is breakfast served in the exec lounge which is basic but has standard continental options along with some sausages and breads. I think they have drinks in the evening but I have yet to make it to the lounge in the evening. I did see a computer in there so they may have had internet available as well but I always use my own laptop for access and it is not cheap. The rooms are not large but fine for a short stay and two people...could be cramped with any more than that. I think you will find it a nice hotel and although the shuttle/train connection can be a bit of a pain for a trip to town if you are Diamond it is worth it for me. I just like the hotel and the service there. You can take a taxi but if I remember correctly it was pretty expensive for what is a relatively short ride.

I have a question for the ZRH train experts though....do you have to pay for the train from ZRH to the main station? I mean, I know there is a fare for it but I have never been ask for a ticket etc when going from the airport to the main train station. I usually have the zurich card so not a big deal but just curious if it is the train I am taking or what.

Ok for Internet use there are 2 computers on the lobby floor. after turning right from the Front Desk towards the Elevators keep walking passed the side of the front desk and on your left will be a room with 2 computers in it, last Aug/Sept there was no charge for using these. This room is not the Offical Biz Center where I do believe they do charge for using a computer. There is a glass door to the room.

I really like this Hilton; it's one of my favorites. The lobby is small, but you get a lot of crews coming through in exotic uniforms! The rooms are great; if you like English language TV, they have a good selection of BBC channels. There is a nice trail near the hotel too.

I found the food in the restaurant to be quite good; it certainly fits the bill.

The staff is friendly and efficient. Check in is a bit laborious. I've never received a bill under the door in the morning, so I have to do the check out thing too: a relic from the past :)

Enjoy your stay!

Its a nice hotel, nice staff, decent dining but I wouldn't want to stay there for a week, let alone two. Too many nice places in the center of the city.

After visiting Switzerland many times, I concur that any long term stay is better suited to a centrally located hotel. That being said, I have stayed at the Zurich Hilton several times prior to my flights home back to the States. It is a nice setting about 10 minutes from Kloten Airport, with an Executive Lounge that has one of the best breakfast buffets I have experienced at a Hilton.

I had a very nice but brief stay there in December, using a 25,000 point reward for one night before an early flight back to the States.

I'd echo the comments about very helpful and friendly staff. Nice Lounge on the exec floor with lot of fruit and snacks out even very late. The room was very stylishly appointed.

It was a very enjoyable wrap-up to a short trip to Switzerland. However, as others have noted it is a ways outside the city center. If I go back to spend some time in Zurich I might choose a property closer-in.

I just got back from the 2 night anniversary trip we decided to spend in Zurich Hilton. Staff is excellent. I wouldn’t call location too remote; it’s ok to take a bus and train to the city centre. As I currently live and work in the very centre of the European city I really enjoyed that in 2 minutes walk from the hotel towards the jogging track there’s a lovely countryside. ^

I booked Zurich relax to make sure we have Jacuzzi. My special arrangements (flowers, etc) were fulfilled completely and because of the special occasion I received complimentary upgrade to a marvellous suite. Welcome drink was upgraded to a bottle of champagne. ^ ^ This was kind of personal touch. A diamond would normally receive a welcome coupon at the bar.

The only negative side was lounge. It is small, it is almost unattended in reality and they ran out of soft drinks (Evian water, diet coke, etc.) frequently. They told there’s a food served between 6pm and 8pm – I was around 8pm there and it was gone. Poor selection of wine, anything else needs to be order from an attendant that appears maybe once in a half of hour and disappears quickly.

Breakfast is good. We received coupons as a part of diamond perks. We also used room service and the order was fulfilled timely. We were impressed by the quality of food.

Conclusion is that I'd return and if there's something to be arranged, get in touch with the manager. He is very oriented on the customer satisfaction and fulfilment of the needs.

Spent one night there last weekend. An overnight on a somewhat complicated itinerary. Since we had checked our luggage straight through and just had hand luggage, we waited for the Hilton shuttle for 45 minutes. When it hadn't showed up by then we just caught a cab. When we got there we told the desk clerk about the shuttle he said, yes, he knew there was a problem with the shuttle. Nice that he knew. As Hilton Gold we were upgraded to the Executive Floor (4th floor). By this time it was shortly before 11 pm and the lounge was closed. And it's closed on Saturday, so the point of being on the Executive Floor was lost. Breakfast in the restaurant was included in our room rate and it was good. We queued up for the shuttle back to the airport about 9:15. The stated schedule called for an airport shuttle every 20 minutes at that time of day, one was supposed to leave at 9:20, 9:40, etc. It actually left at 9:30. One couple was told they couldn't get on because there was only one seat left inside the shuttle, not two. They were told that the next shuttle wouldn't be for 40 minutes. Again, not according to their own published schedule, but I think perhaps one of their shuttles was out of order. That being the case you'd think they could have squeezed the last person on this shuttle.

The shuttle had one dropoff point and it was literally at the other end of the airport from where our departure gate was. Thank God we only had hand luggage.

On this trip we stayed at the Cannes Hilton (great), the Dubrovnik Hilton (great), and the one night at the Zurich Hilton. Granted it's an airport hotel, but still, not impressed.

We last stayed at this hotel July 1st. We were on the club level (4th flr). The room was average.
The exec lounge had a smallish flat screen tv on which we watched two FIFA World Cup games. Even though it was Saturday the service in the lounge was superb. Endless drinks and food of various types for all those watching the games. Breakfast was an above average buffet.

This hotel is short distance from the airport.

I am elite with Hilton and Marriott. I stayed at this Hilton on the recommendation of the premium manager for AA in Zurich. He told me the Hilton was superior to the Renaissance which is also near the airport. He was wrong. I have stayed at the Zurich Renaissance recently and the club level rooms were larger and much better appointed, in every respect, than the Zurich Hilton.

The shuttle drop off is pretty much exactly in the middle between the two terminals. There are baggage carts available nearby, so even with baggage it shouldn't be an issue.

I completed a single night stay at the Zurich Hilton last month and would give it an overall rating of average.

As a Gold we were upgraded to the lower of the 2 executive levels. The room was "fine" (nothing outstanding, nothing wrong) but quite small. My only serious complaint was that the whole executive floor had a serious cigarette odor problem. From the moment you stepped off the elevator it was quite overwhelming (this from a former smoker). The room however was relatively smoke free (as long has you hadn't just opened the door).

The lounge was pretty typical and the staff "attempted" to be helpful. I say attempted since although very polite and attentive, two different employees provided me with incorrect information. One about the shuttle time and the other at incorrect phone number.

They have recently increased the number of shuttles to airport which helps.

Stayed here for two non-consecutive nights last week.

Was upgraded automatically to an executive floor (top one) as a Gold. I booked the cheapest flexible rate.

I echo the other comments made really. Executive rooms pretty small. Lounge is nice. Wasn't very busy when I was there but used the free Internet and had a beer. Didn't see any food but I wasn't there at that time.

I was informed at check-in to go to the main dining room for my free breakfast as they weren't serving it in the lounge for some reason. Breakfast was OK. Standard buffet.

Typical airport hotel. I would stay again if I needed.

Not if You can get yourself into one of the Relaxtion Rooms , which are in the other part of the Hotel. It was sooo wonderful and relaxing that I really simply wanted to say Heck with my Flight, and stay there for another day or two.

I was upgraded to a different level on my last stay a few weeks ago. They usually send me to the top floor; the rooms are fine there. This time, I was put on the third floor, which is the one below reception. There are much larger rooms--much bigger--and nicely appointed. They have what I can only describe as a "bathcuzzi": it's a bath with water jets in it--very relaxing. If you can get on the third floor next time, you'll like it.

Just wrapping up an overnight stay at the Hilton Zurich.

Missed the shuttle yesterday by 5 seconds (literally saw it pull from the curb as the doors opened). Oh well, the next one was exactly on time 29 minutes later. Short (5 minute) ride to the property.

Check-in was in the 5th floor exec lounge and I was 'upgraded' to a 6th floor executive room. Room was rather basic and not overly large, but was tidy and had all of the essential amenities including both wired (hotel fee) and wireless (outside company) access.

Staff was over the top competent, typically European. How disapointing visits to the U.S. must be for European and Asian visitors.

Dinner in the hotel was quite good though they push the buffett. I ordered ala carte off the menu and really enjoyed the freshly cooked selections.

Breakfast was in the exec lounge and was quite basic. Nice selection of breads, a couple of cheeses and a very limited selection of warm offerings (think sausage and scrambled eggs). Simple but adequate for my tastes . . . those looking for eggs cooked to order and the like should head to the lobby.

Overall quite a nice if not fabulous experience. I will not hesitate to stay again (which is good as I'm booked back here in a few days).

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel two separate stays on a recent business trip to EU. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast that was included in a promotional "2 for 1" guest option. Unfortunately-- the bargain ended pretty quickly and we simply won't be able to justify staying at this hotel ever again. The cost of parking was 30 Euros per day and the cost for internet access was about the same at 30 as well. For $90 (conversion) per night on the extras, we asked the hotel for some sort of discount--- we stayed a total of four nights-- and they offered nothing.

Did we cross paths? I'd planned on being there 10/30 and 11/3 on points but decided not to go into town and also stayed 11/1 and 11/2. I used the lounge computer so no internet fee and ate breakfast there, also snacks/dinner three of the nights I wasn't elsewhere. Very cozy. I would go back.

Staying frequently at this Hotel, conveniently located for the ZRH airport. Always upgraded to the executive floor or to a higher category room as a gold or diamond HH. Found the staff always very friendly. Like the cozy lounge but restaurant is better for breakfast. Parking is indeed a bit expensive but unless you have your private car, you do not need to use it . There is frequent and free shuttle service to the ZRH airport and associated rental cars and railway station (with direct connections to several places in Switzerland)

The internet connection is expensive at every hotel I have stayed at in Switzerland. If you are there for more than 3 days it's better to buy the week pass for Monzoon, I think it's like 90 Swiss Franks.

I was here with my wife for an award stay last summer and it's a nice property. I don't quite understand why they send you to the lounge to check-in as a Gold/Diamond VIP, but nevertheless, it was clean and the lounge was well stocked (and had a free internet terminal). I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It's outside of Zurich proper, but it wasn't so far that it was a problem.
