Air France Frequence Plus - Any thoughts why AF stopped loading award seats?

In the middle of putting an award ticket itinerary together for late October 2010.

3 Days ago AF stopped loading any award seats (using Expertflier). The itinerary is kind of stuck in Paris with our final destination Cairo.

It is so odd...I have been tracking this route for months and like clockwork the award seats have been loaded everyday for the corresponding future day....until 3 days ago. All it says is "no entries".

I have noticed sometimes a "delay" on the weekends and then they catch up on Mondays..... but this is mid-week.

Is there a holiday in France right now where the award ticket "loader" may be off?

You mean you came to Paris without having a ticket to CAI you intended to book as an award at the very last minute?

Very risky choice if you want my opinion.

Public holidays are over since yesterday in France but next wednesday is off (end of WWI anniversary) therefore a lot af people are leaving for 5 days, either from this saturday to wednedsay or from wednesday to next sunday.

I wouldn't consider booking today for October 2010 to be "very last minute" :p

My mistake : I misread.

Public holidays in France at that time are around the 1st of November.

Okay...I'll ask again....

It has been 7 days since AF has loaded any new award seats (using Expert-flier) 360 days out.....any idea what happened?

They were loading them in like clockwork everyday for months...then stopped on the October 31st.

Frustrating as I am in the middle of putting together an award ticket....and I am kind of stuck in the wrong city.

As mentioned above, late October is usually school vacation or at least long week end (talking about 2010). So, it could be simply that AF is not opening award for that period in 2010. Doubt that they will ever open awards for departure exParis on oct 31 (as Nov 1 is official holiday for all workers). If I were you, I would reschedule my trip.
I strongly doubt that the problem you encounter has anything to do with AF staff being currently on vacation, award opening one year ahead are done automatically based on yield management software. So your problem is really the blackout dates for 2010.

I agree with brunos that this has nothing to do with AF staff being any 'slower'. I would think the only two possibilities are as brunos said that they are not willing to release seats on days when they expect to be able to sell a lot of revenue tickets or possibly (but unlikely) some uncertainty about the winter 2010 schedule which will start around that time. You'll be able to figure out which it is in a few days when you try your luck at 'empty' dates such as 14 or 15 November (as long as they do not fall at the end of the 11 November bank holiday weekend!)

Hmm... it's a bit like hoping for an award ticket on a US airline on Labour day weekend...
