Hi all -

I'll be traveling on RJ in March and was looking into their OneWorld lounges (I'm AA EXP). I came across this quote on Wikipedia (I know, it's not always a reliable source...) stating that they're planning to open 3 new lounges:

"Royal Jordanian announced that it was going to open three new lounges in Dubai, New York and London with the lounges set to open in late 2009, or early 2010." [LINK] (http://www.rj.com/TravelEssentials/AirportInformation/QAIACrownLounge/tabid/365/locale/en-US/default.aspx)

I normally would have shrugged it off as mis-information, but there's a link to the press release section of rj.com. Of course, the link is no longer active.

Is anyone familiar with RJ's current lounge plans or have an active link to the press release? I know they use a partner lounge at JFK T3.

To me those locations are places where other OW airlines have a strong presence. Maybe RJ will move to T7 or T8 at JFK and use the OW partner lounges. All OW airlines at LHR are at T3 or T5 with new BA lounges. Dubai no clue.

I'd have to concur, with only 1 flight a day to London and only 3 or 4 flights a week to JFK, I really doubt they are referring to investing in their own lounges. At LHR, all OW carriers are using T3 and there are new BA lounges that IB and others are also using, so I presume like the other poster that they are referring to that one.

And since they and LAN are the only OW carriers using Terminal 4 at JFK, I think it is a good presumption that they are planning a move there and will then be able to offer a different lounge. JFK is definitely a good candidate for OWs next consolidation project: there are currently 9 OW carriers spread across 5 terminals there. Would be great if they could all consolidate in T7 and T8 with some sort of airside connection between the two.
