Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - LHR to MEL - meal times
Flight SQ319 - departs Heathrow at 18.15, arrives Singapore at 14.55
FLight SQ227 - departs Singapore at 21.00, arrives Melbourne 7.15am
I'm trying to get a rough idea of what meals are served when and when sleeping is encouraged (lights dimmed) on these two flights as as I am travelling with an infant. The airline are unable to provide me with this information. Really grateful for any advice you can give.

Can't help with SQ319, but SQ227 has dinner soon after takeoff (approx 1 hour into flight). Lights dimmed about 2 hours into flight, and come back on about 90mins-2hrs before landing (which can mean as little as 2hrs with lights off if the there are strong tailwinds - as is often the case). Then a light breakfast about 1 hour prior to landing. (timing varies by position in cabin of course).
...and 319 is the best flight in terms of meal/sleep timing ex-LHR - full bar then dinner (c.2-3 hrs duration) then lights off until breakfast 2-3hrs before landing
many thanks to you both - that is very helpful.

Does anyone else think that flying on overnight SIN-OZ flights is like being in a hospital. Lights come on and off whenever they want with no regard to people sleeping. Does SQ ever do surveys that ask if people really want to eat a breakfast 3 hours after finishing dinner at 3am SIN time or whether they would rather the lights be left off until 1/2 hour before landing so you can get some decent rest.
