Marriott Rewards - EEO Nights Counting Toward Elite Requalification

When using an EEO for a weekend stay, is it possible to be credited with two nights (for elite requalification) although only one night is paid? Will the system know to only credit the guest for the paid night?

I'm trying to requalify for Platinum and I'm hoping my EEO (free) nights will count toward requalification. Otherwise, I'd rather find a more inexpensive rate and pay for both nights.

Hi. This issue has been discussed numerous times in other threads, and the consensus is . . . "it depends".

Many report that both nights are credited for requalification and for promotions like the current MegaBonus. Occasionally someone will report getting only one night's credit. It seems to depend on the property and on how the "free night" is credited on the invoice.
