Star Alliance - Which *A FFP has the lowest redemption threshold in Europe?

Hi,

Two unfrequent flyers I know will take LX C flights next week. My friends aren't enrolled in any *A FFP so far. There travel pattern will make it extremely unlikely they'll be accruing a lot of miles anyway.

Being a Flyertalker, I'd be sad if these miles were simply lost, and I'd suggest they join a FFP. I know DC and with the 6,000 miles they'll get they could get a cash+miles Y r/t in Europe. I know it's a horrendous redemption value, but given the situation, I don't think they can "save their miles" over a few year to go for the better rewards.

Not knowing other FFP in Star Alliance, is there an obviously better choice to suggest them, with the goal of hitting a redemption threshold for something, even of low value, rather quickly (in the 6-10,000 miles range).

AC has merchandise/gift certificate awards for low mileage.
Terrible value for the points, but at least something.

don't forget that DC only charge 1.5x for J, and that they allow one-ways, so they can use 2 x 4.5k miles from 2 different accounts for one J return in Europe on C&M. And when that includes Moscow it becomes quite a good redemption return :)

BMI DC still offers 5k miles if you sign-up using the right link (this is NOT the offer on the homepage which requires a BMI flight)

As Hilton still offer 1,500 miles PER NIGHT with BMI they could top up their miles from that, or even buy a few.

Thank you for reminding me this signup offer. I found and sent them the link. ^
