Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - Bali>Europe - which *A-carrier?
I'm just about to book
VIE-NRT OS51 [s/o] NRT-ICN NH907 ICN-PVG OZ363 and
DPS-SIN SIN-xxx xxx-VIE in C (I - using miles&m).
I'm trying to get the inbound flight on SQ-metal: A380 (SIN-LHR/CDG) or 777-300ER (SIN-FRA/ZRH/MXP).
Just in case this isn't successful, should I stick to SQ (with old business on 744 or 772) or opt for LH, OS, LX or TG?
Being a flyer for leisure only flights on C are rare, so I'd like to get an experience worth 'writing home about'.
Thanks for any suggestions,
vievic
Which FFP allows the suggested outbound flights? Too many legs, stopover + back tracking.
SQ does not allow C awards on the A380 or 77W (A/C with F suites and new C class seats) unless you travel in Y. You need to book F award to be seated in C on A380 or 77W.
Your Q: I class availability to Europe on SQ are usually difficult to find, in particular in high season (DEC-FEB). Things might be different now due the low demand for C class seats. AMS would be the safest bet to have availability.
TG DPS-BKK and OS BKK-VIE come to mind as good connections with great service. It such be easier to find I class availability on these carriers. In the TG forum you will find plenty of info on DPS-BKK leg and in this forum you will find frequent comparisons of C class on TG, LH, OS, etc.
I have travelled OS C class several times. The service is great; the meals are outstanding; seats are OK. Very similar to LH, LX and SK.

3 legs = 2 connections, which should be fine with M&M for a 120.000 miles C-award. One stopover (Narita) should be OK, the stop in Seoul is < 24 hours.
According to the M&M Service Team the back-tracking shouldn't be a problem, either:
"Ihr gewuenschtes Routing ist moeglich. Sie fliegen:
von Wien nach Tokyo (Aufenthalt)
von Tokyo nach Shanghai (Aufenthalt) und zurueck [...]"

According to http://www.miles-and-more-forum.com/mmforum/jsp/archiv.jsp#260 it is possible to book C awards on both aircrafts, except the suites: "Seit dem 14.01.2009 können Sie auf den Flugzeugtypen B777-300er und A340-500 Prämienbuchungen in Business (C-Class) und First Class (F-Class) tätigen. Sogar Prämienbuchungen und Upgrades in Business Class auf dem A 380 sind gestattet."
Of course award availaibilty on these types may be around 0.
Thank you for the hints and infos regarding my question!
