Is this an SPG property? I frequently stay in Chicago and this has never come up as an option when I search spg.com, however I was just browsing the options for an upcoming trip using the Limited Time Offer (http://starwoodpromos.com/hotel-deals2/?IM=CORP_HP_TEXT_EN_W1_GLONOVLTO_GLO) and the Tremont came up as an option for $129/night.

There is no master thread on this hotel and nothing solid returned on a search.
Lurkers- care to shed any light?

Your second link pulled up the hotel home page that clearly noted: No SPG participation. That may explain why it's been shunned here on FT.

LOL didn't see that in the bottom right corner. The hotel looks old and drab anyway..was just curious why it comes up via the Starwood promo but not Starwood.com. Most hotels that don't participate in SPG still come up when you search spg.com.

You've been here long enough to know better. ;) by now you should know to look at the bottom right corner and or the "announcements" section of the properties home page, when in doubt.
This isn't the first time a non starwood participation property has shown it's face via a search.
Tremont Hotel, Chicago, IL (a Starwood Property) now showing up in hotel search ($99) (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starwood-preferred-guest/510983-tremont-hotel-chicago-il-starwood-property-now-showing-up-hotel-search-99-a.html)

I'm quite aware that this hotel doesn't participate in SPG. My main inquiry was surrounding why it doesn't come up on spg.com searches. Many hotels that don't participate/have limited participation in SPG come up when you search SPG.com. Why doesn't this one?

Because it is not a branded property within Starwood's nine brands. It only comes up during a search at spg.com when all other hotels in Chicago are sold out.

I'd vote no - and spend your $129 some other place. Please, let's just put our heads in the sand and pretend that this ratty little property has nothing to do with Starwood.
