Qantas Frequent Flyer - Is the NAB/Qantas Credit Card worth it?

Having moved Down Under this year I am now shopping around for a credit card with rewards.
I currently have an AA account with a few hundred thousand miles I want to keep.
The NAB cards are as follows:
PLAT: $290 in fees. $1=1.5 points/$2=2 points.
GOLD: $145.50 fee. $2=2 points/$3=2 points. It drops off the more you spend.
BLUE: $65 in fees. $2=1 points up to $3000 then NO POINTS.
At the moment I am spending AUD 3000-4000 per month on my card. It varies but tis life.
I am not sure if the high fee's and then miles I get are worth it.
Can any of you shed some light on it for me?

Only you can decide if it's worth it. The NAB Gold level card option gives one of the better earn rates for QF points on the Visa option. But for the Amex side, you can do better with other cards (including those direct from Amex).
If you have a home loan or other significant piece of banking business with a particular bank, then you can generally get one of their gold/plat card for free (or bundled with a package from the bank)

Also have a look at the Amex cards. There are good direct earning ones which include free domestic return flights while the Platinum Charge Card still allows a transfer to QF. You could also transfer to AA via SPG.

Emirates seems to have a reasonable offer - restricted lounge access + restricted chauffer service. $199 for once a year to the EU with them.
I cancelled my Qantas Ultimate card recently, as I HATE annual fees*. Even though I did use the bonus flight (un-upgradeable, but PER-SYD-PER was valid) but if I fly QF to/from PER I want to upgrade, or I choose a different carrier. Unfortunately, I find the travel insurance on cards is so weak that I have to buy an annual plan anyway, so don't miss that but I do miss the points. *Amex did offer to waive all fees on their issued cards, but not as a permanent arrangement, so I ended my association with them.

However, when booking, one can pay the fare difference between O and S class and can then endeavour to upgrade. (~$100 e/w for PER/MEL)

Some of the insurance products are actually quite good and very comprehensive. There are a few holes but they often exist with other policies as well.

I was dumping my QF AMEX but was offered a $200 credit to meet annual fee so keeping it for another year.
