El Al Matmid - Upgrade from V

Dear All,
I've been reading the forum for quite a while and finally decided to join.
I don't fly as much of all of you, about once a month and usually to Europe (in economy). I try and fly elal but since many times I return on Shabbat I take other carriers.
Out of my 4 flights with LH I got two OPUps which made me very happy with them.
In two weeks I am flying with Elal TLV-CDG. My return is in V class.
What are my chances for an OPUp?

To be honest very small. If economy is overbooked on your flight and there are not enough people entitled to a last minute upgrade (only S, Y, M classes) then they may OpUp some people but they will normally choose TPL, PL, GL, SL first and only then regular Matmid members.

So I would not hold up your hopes.

That said, you were very lucky to get 2 OpUps with LH so who knows - maybe luck follows you :)

I got upgrade twice with only 100 points in my account. :)

One in Check in, other just in the gate while boarding.

Classes were poor, they just look for single business person.

Do not loose hope, and remember to ask each time. ;)

1st, It doesnt matter if you have 1 point or 10,000, It matter your status
2nd, Depends on who fly in the same flight, If you are the only Matmid,
and the flight is overbooked, you might be upgraded...
I have seen people which are not matmid upgraded to business due to
overbooking and the fact now one left to upgrade.

needless to say, at that time I was in status of nothing just "Matmid".
And probably I was the only one with membership in queue.
