*1 Executive Class passengers are kindly invited to Oneworld Lounge. (From 25OCT2009).

Before this, C passengers have to use the non-alliance lounge. I think this is to distinguish C class from Premium economy passengers who are invited to the non-alliance lounge only :D

which LAX Lounge is better JALpak? I figured you are the best person to ask! :)

The OneWorld lounge is much better, much more room, hot food and very nice showers. ^

One thing not clear is whether JMB Sapphire will be invited to the OW lounge or the non-alliance lounge. I remember Black Adder was told to use the non-alliance lounge back in May (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11884759-post7.html). Not sure if that has changed or not. ;)

Pardon my confusion (or if it's been discussed before) but why would any JL pax be directed anywhere other than the Oneworld lounge?

Good question! All I know is the one time I was flying CX 1.5 years ago I was able to use the OW lounge but when I tried to use it earlier this year, I was directed to the non-alliance lounge.

I think JALpak will have an update for us soon. ;)

Doh! I forgot to ask the check-in agent. I take advantage of the super discounted upgrade award and fly business this time :p

OW lounge is much nicer than the non-alliance lounge in terms of food. The non-alliance lounge only had ramen noodles, sushi and maybe some sandwiches when I was there back in July. The OW lounge has cream of tomato soup, and hot dishes (mini pizza, mini sandwiches, tofu and mushroom, beef stew, chow mein, and steam rice)

It's NOT crowded for JL061 departure time and according to the check-in agent the flight is quite full today.

But the wifi connection at OW lounge is not encrypted while the one at non-alliance lounge is. But the connection is much stabler at the OW lounge. I kept getting disconnected when I was at the non-alliance lounge last time.

But you don't get to see outside the window at the OW business class lounge, that's one thing I like about the non-alliance one. All I see outside the window is construction in progress :p

They started doing this earlier this year. No idea why. Probably due to cost?

Time to board now :)

If you have OW elite status (Sapphire or Emerald), it doesn't matter where JAL wants you to go, you are entitled to use the Oneworld lounges.

True. But OW lounge denied access of JAL elite back in May (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11884759-post7.html) and redirected them to the non-alliance lounge. I guess if you insist and bring the lounge access policy with you, they might have eventually let Black Adder in :p

Absolutley stick to your guns. You are entitled to access regardless of what JAL says.
