Did that used to be the vacation club? Or was it a different hotel altogether? I stayed at the vacation club on Singer Island on points a few years back, and let me just tell you, it was amazing. Ill give you more details if you are thinking about staying there.

It was formerly a Luxury Collection hotel with Starwood. It generally gets good reviews on Trip Advisor, but was curious if anyone here has stayed.

not suprising but this must have just happened as I was in the area 10 days ago and drove by the hotel and didn't notice any new signage

It's an ok property... if you're going to be in the area I'd suggest going slightly more north to Hutchinson Island.
