Hyatt Gold Passport - Hyatt Diamond Level

Due to the recent Hyatt promotion counting 1 stay as 2 I will probably make it to Diamond level for the first time ever! sooner than I thought due to upcoming business trips. My question is that after calculating it out my stay on 11/17 will be stay 25 & 26, I will be making a pleasure trip on 11/20 to Denver but wont arrive till late at night. Will the Denver trip count as I Diamond stay or will the details not have made it to my account by then? Also with regards to Platinum extra awards, I revcently did stay 11&12 with the 1 night counting for 2 stays but when I asked at Hyatt . com about that award was told the bonus promotion stays do not count towards Platinum extra awards, I paid for the night so was not using a free night, so does this mean no more Platinum awards during this promotion?

You will find that Hyatt will endorse your profile as Diamond once you hit the 25 stay mark, and your new card will arrive within 21 days.
Your trip on the 20th will be as a Diamond and whilst you will not have your Diamond card in your hand, your profile that resevations punch up, will show it. This should not stop you from telling them, or anyone else that's listening that "You are a Diamond":D.
The trouble with being a diamond is that you are no longer interested in what promos the plats are getting, in fact, you are not interested in anything other than what Hyatt does for it's Diamonds, so I can't help you with your bonus question.
Ensure that you read up on what diamond status gives you, understand the idea of booking base and receiving club, the tier bonuses and keep an eye on the hotel GP bonuses. Congratulation and regards bkkrop

I recommend that you consider calling after your 25th stay to have your stay manually posted to assure that your status reflects Diamond for your stay on the 20th. Further, at the same time, you can have the CS folks flag the Denver reservation to assure you get Diamond treatment without the card.

When I first qualified for Diamond last year, I had a similar situation with a narrow time frame from final qualifying stay to next, and I found customer service to be quite helpful in assuring I received status recognition properly.

It doesnt hurt to contact GP CS to ensure you get your recognized status in Dever.

as my Hyatt stays are mostly outside the USA and the Americas .....i find that Diamonds are just not that worth it ...or am i wrong ?....i mean the club access is one thing which i hardly get to on time for the spreads .......but i think the continental breakfast is just not attractive at all !.......am i missing out something somewhere ??

In addition to 4 CONFIRMED Suite upgrades yearly, Diamonds get free lounge access or with lounge-less hotels, a full American Breakfast daily for 2. We also get complimentary internet access.

These perks are of very good value, especially when one stays in their top tier properties such as Park Hyatt Paris, where 24 hr internet would've cost somewhere around 20 euros, or Full Bfast around 40 euros a person.

I like Hyatt benefits very much, because unlike SPG, Diamonds are GUARANTEED to receive the benefits. With SPG, there are too many 'subject to availability' clause...

And you forget the fact that you always only need to book the most basic room and you'll get upgraded to the best non-suite room anyway!

Have a quick question about the upgrade cerificates I will get when Iam Diamond level which should be in about 2 weeks time , it says 4 per year, will I get any for this year as it is almost the end of the year or will that start Jan 1st or some other date?

After upgraded to Diamond, you will be issued four suite upgrade awards, valued through 2/28/10. The next set will be valued from 3/01/10 until 2/28/11.

The home page of GP after I have logged in says "Through February 2011, you have earned the exclusive privileges reserved for our most elite guests" yet on my account page it says Tier expiration of Jan. 30, 2010...

Is this is a glitch??

are/were you on the 120 day upgrade challenge?
If so a few people have reported that once they reached their level it it says 28 Feb 2011, if you look in that thread, I know I was comped to plat and made plat quickly, and it has 28 Feb as my tier expiration, I am hoping it stays 2011 when I reach diamond in 2 weeks.
