InterContinental Hotels: Priority Club & Inter-Continental Ambassador - Frankfurt V Cologne
Looking for some advice here.
Looking to book a weekend at one of these IC's so which IC should I go for? From what I have read Cologne is better, but I will get club as an RA at Frankfurt. What would you do?
Now which city is better to visit? I have no experience of either.
Your advices are appreciated

Cologne hands down. More fun city, nice things to see and a much better IC.
I have quite a few Cologne photos linked below from when I did a weekend there a few months ago. Had a wonderful time there.

I would clearly tend to visit Cologne. Have stayed at the IC last weekend, modern hotel in an excellent location for having fun. My last stay at FRA IC is some 7 years ago, so this wouldn't be a valid comparison.
But in Cologne there is far more to do than in Frankfurt. Although I have to say, that I'm a bit biased, as I lived for three 6 years in the Cologne area.

Not sure I'd let free drinks and a breakfast weigh too heavily in deciding the location of a weekend away. Downside of a lounge is that it can seduce you from heading out for dinner (surely a large part of the fun): especially as the FRA effort is closer to a meal than it is to canapes - and at the weekend you might get the lounge all to yourself.
Cologne is certainly more immediately attractive, but Frankfurt is more interesting than its reputation suggests.

Your right, a decent breakfast is all you need, and the club can be a distraction.
Thanks to all the decision seems clear

The IC in FRA is a DUMP. Even when upgraded to one of their massive top floor suites with balcony overlooking the river, my only thought was - THIS IS A DUMP. Avoid.
Cologne is a new property and far more interesting anyway.
The Dusseldorf IC is also lovely.

I second the Cologne option.
If you send them a note prior to your stay, they will most likely upgrade to a club room (with club access) as RA.
I´m a regular guest here, so this may be help me getting into the lounge but I´ve met a lot of other RAs here, who have been upgraded to the club floor.
And yes, forget the "dinner" in the IC club lounge. In this respect, the IC FRA wins by far.
But this shouldn´t be the basis for a decision :-)
