Starwood Preferred Guest - Which hotel near Microsoft in Redmond?

I'm a Starwood Gold Preferred member, so I'd prefer a Starwood property if there's nothing a lot nicer in the vicinity. I'm planning to be staying for two nights, November 4th and 5th, and would like to be within reasonable distance of the main campus. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks!

Westin Bellevue is the best SPG property in the area. Request a Grand Deluxe Room on the 4th or 5th floor - rain shower, outdoor patio - I prefer them to the suites at this property.

If you're visiting MSFT, they should have some corp rates you could use as well.

I am often up in Seattle visiting the mothership. I usually stay in Seattle and just make sure I time my commute to avoid the craziness across the SR-520 floating bridge and when I do I always stay at the W. If you are looking to minimise the commute then your only choice is Bellevue and out of the two properties I would only stay at the Westin. The Sheraton there is only a notch or two above a Four Points and whilst cheap, is in dire need of a refresh.

Stay at the Westin in Bellevue - nice hotel and Microsoft have a shuttle to their campus that leaves from the front of the hotel (ask the concierge for details).

Not sure who you are visiting, but almost the entire online group is now based in Bellevue which is a short walk from the Westin there. Avoid the Sheraton Bellevue, its a dump. If you have never been to Seattle, I suggest the W as it is in the heart of downtown and walking distance to all things "touristy". The traffic sucks but if you leave seattle before 7:30 you can make it to Redmond in less than 25 mins.

Redmond/Bellevue are the suburbs of Seattle with little or nothing to do.

Not sure of the last time you have been in Redmond or Bellevue, but actually there is quite a bit to do (new restaurants, shopping, bars, clubs, wine shops, etc.) and no paying for parking unlike downtown.

As far as where to stay - I would stay in Redmond at either the Residence Inn, Marriott, or another hotel but that's because the traffic is really bad coming and going from downtown.

I am there at least once a month and I lived on the east side for 14 months. Agree with you about the new dowtown Bellevue (you can never convince there is anything remotely exciting about Redmond) but its definitely not Seattle and a ghost town after 9pm.
