Hi,
Sorry for the slightly misplaced topic but it is at least related to SK and Star:
I need to go from ARN to Panama City on Saturday (C class, price is not an issue). Does anyone have any recommendations on:
1) Routing, with respect to EB points, inflight product and other practicalities (immigration etc.)
2) Hotels in Panama City
Thanks.
The best option in regards to travel time would be to go through EWR and onwards with CO. Both CO and SK are options to EWR, but SK would be better for EB-points (extra 25%). The only problem is that CO887 from EWR to PTY seems to be almost fully booked.
So either ARN-EWR with either CO69 og SK903, and EWR-PTY with CO887.
Is it your business trip? Due to Priority Club Plat membership, I am IC, CP and HI-biased: I like Crown Plaza - good neighborhood, not far from business area; Holiday Inn Knowledge City is a good pick for business/leisure travel: very close to the Canal, pay USD 10.00 extra and they will secure you a Canal-view room.

Thanks for the advice both on flights and hotels!
It definitely looks like ARN-EWR-PTY (with SK on the first leg) is the best option both from a schedule, product and EB point of view. Panama City actually seems to be a pretty cool city in contrast with my prejudices.

It the EWR-PTY one is fully booked one could also do EWR-IAH-PTY for some additional mileage and probably roughly the same fare. Just don't get stuck on a codeshare on Copa metal, as we all know *A sucks with codeshare mileage earnings and that flight will not yield any EB points.
