Hi. I'm a relative newbie. I amassed 34200 status miles last year and this year, and was so close to achieving Gold status before I was posted back to UK work. First Capital Connect don't have frequent commuter points. Oh well.

I've just been "downgraded" from Silver to silver - but lost all my status points. Shouldn't they get rid of the points between where I was and the Silver threshold, 16000, and leave me there for the year? I'm currently showing 0 status points, and therefore is there anything to stop them bumping me down to Blue Plus (or even, shudder, Blue?)

Any advice and guidance would be great thanks!

If it was the end of your membership year then they do reset them to zero and you start again. The carry over applies to a status change during the membership year - eg if currently silver and got to 38700 (as happened to me) during the year they take off the 38000 and leave you with the 700 to carry over

you won't get status moved again for another 12 months (unless upwards)

You start over from zero when your status year expires. You still need 38,000 points in the year to make it to gold or the regular amount (15/16k??) to get silver again for the following year.
