Yep, we all already knew it was coming but I'm sure some of you, like myself, were trying to hold on to occasional accounts by fellow FTers that they had still been upgraded anyway to hope for the impossible. The new policy is now stated clearly in the new FB newsletter:
'■Les surclassements à titre gratuit sur les vols domestiques Northwest ne seront plus proposés aux membres Flying Blue Elite Plus et Elite en raison de restrictions techniques.'
If I may whine pointlessly, apart from the fact that this is of course extremely bad news for us and takes away what I would consider to be one of the top three FB elite plus benefits (alongside lounge access and C class check in), why do they have to be deceptive even here and claim that this is for 'technical reasons' while we all know perfectly well it is because DL swallowed the corpse of NW and DL never ever intended to extend complimentary domestic upgrades to FB elite plus passengers (they don't even give us a free bag domestically, so...). And as long as I'm there, why do they present as 'news' that we can now upgrade with miles on DL international flights as if this was a revolutionary concept while it has now been possible on all skyteam airlines for a few months? Anyway, sorry to confirm yet more bad news on the FB front. there truly is very little left in that programme... :td:
