Have been able to find weekend turns BOS-LAX-LHR-LAX-BOS for $1079 a/i
Departing Saturday mornings and back in BOS by early Monday AM (in time for work!)
Have been able to route some DFWs and ORDs in as well at the same price.
Have not tried routing ex-NYC or other cities.
With DBEQM ~33K EQMs
This is particularly good for an NY based who can depart ex-BOS for NYDBL like me :)
NYDLB+elite = ~50K RDMs.
Considering doing two of these myself in the next few weekends to make EXP.

good catch! hope you aren't planning on upgrading LAX-LHR and vv, I've read on the AAdvantage forum that upgrades to J are particularly hard to come by.
bon voyage!

You must have alot of extra cash lying around to waste.... why not do three transcons for about $225 each from ny/bos, saving you almost $800 over your two trips.
Your cpm for eqm is over 3 cpm, this way it is closer to 2.3 cpm.

To answer you question: timing!
I need 65EQM--6-7 Transcons---thats a minimum 3 weekends, and only if I can route 2 per weekend at that cost. I don't have 3 weekends to burn. I might have two though! In such a way, it becomes a question of whether EXP worth that extra $800....

You could also look at transcons where you fly west early in the evening and take the redeye back (if you can sleep on redeyes - I have a hard time doing that, even in First). You could do those during the week. Might cut into a little of work time depending on the schedule, but worth checking on.

I think I might agree with you here - I need either 1 trip to Europe or 2 Transcon's for making EXP using DEQM and lifetime Gold. Granted one west coast to EMEA would simplify it but with airfare and I'd want to have a day to gorge myself in Parisien food it's working to be kinda expensive. So Transcon's might win out here.

Sometimes you get tired of doing a transcon return. Why not do a mileage run to somewhere different. $800 is no big deal.
seems to me that you could book it as 2 tickets and save some $ Isnt bos-lhr on sale?

In that case, can I have $800? :D
