I just got my Select kit and it says that my status lasts until Feb. 28, 2010. For the airlines, it would be 2011. Is Amtrak different or is the date wrong in the kit?
Amtrak Guest Rewards - Confused about status yearView Full Version : Confused about status year EricH Nov 2, 09, 7:51 pm I just got my Select kit and it says that my status lasts until Feb. 28, 2010. AlanB Nov 2, 09, 9:54 pm Eric, If you didn't already have status this current year, ie. right now, then once you qualified recently, that triggered AGR to promote you for the remainder of this year. Consider it a little bonus. So they sent you a kit good for the remainder of the year. In addition to that bonus, you earned status for next year too. Come mid-Feb you'll get another kit in the mail that will contain a new card good until Feb 28th, 2011. nerd Nov 2, 09, 10:13 pm Airlines work the same way, no? (OP is a 1K on UAL) When I first got elite status on UA, they sent me a card that expired in February. In February I got a card that expired a year later. EricH Nov 3, 09, 5:02 am That's it. It's been so long since I first got status that I forgot. Now it makes sense. Thanks. jackal Nov 3, 09, 5:58 pm To me, that seems like a strange (and wasteful) way of doing it. When I first got MVP on Alaska Airlines in 2007, I received an MVP card that expired on Dec 31, 2008 (AS doesn't extend through February like most other airlines). I assumed everyone else worked the same way. Guess I was wrong. |
