Hi All!

This is probably an obvious questions for you all but there seems to be lots of options. My family (myself, wife and toddler son) will be arriving into SIN next week for three nights at the Pan Pacific Singapore en-route to Australia. We have a fair amount of luggage due to going to Australia for a while and were wondering the best way to get to the hotel?

From what I can see we have a few options...

1. Leave some luggage in left luggage and get the MRT to City Hall and walk from there.

2. Get a portering (www.porterxpress.com) service to transfer our luggage form Airport to Hotel and get MRT and walk from there.

3. One of us gets a taxi with the luggage whilst the other gets MRT with the bubba jnr. in stroller and walks.

4. Try to find a taxi company with reasonable charges who could provide a MPV with baby seat to transfer.

Who would've thought it was such a complicated issue.

Your thoughts/input would be valued.

Thanks all,
Bubbz!

This site might be helpful. -> http://www.limousinecab.com/singapore/maxi-cab/ ;)

Since you will be in SIN for 3 nights, the estimate cost per suitcase at left luggage will come out to around $20 per bag for the whole duration ($16 for hand carry) which will be most expensive than taking the Merc Vito Van for both journeys. :)

I have done this before, the best thing to do is grab a maxi cab. You can comfortable fit a ton of luggage, strollers, baby seats, etc in there and still have room for some people too! It's roughly SIN$50 and you get it right outside of baggage claim at one of the service counters.

for the family convenience, better get a taxi. MRT is convenient and cheap if you travel with a small luggage. :)

No contest, take the maxicab or London cab, which are easily arranged on arrival without prior booking. The Pan Pac is quite a long hike from the nearest MRT station (City Hall), through a confusing warren of underground/shopping mall pathways and up and down escalators and staircases, and I really would not recommend trying this with heavy luggage. Beware of maps that show the "Esplanade" station near your hotel -- it will not open until Q2 2010!
