I want to book IAD-LAX F award on UA using US miles. Award availability is showing up on ANA tool in F for the IAD-LAX leg. The LAX-IAD return however has no F availability but there is C class availability on a 3 class 777. Is this bookable since F and C awards are both 50K miles?

Should not be a problem

Ya, that should be fine with US...but the only thing they might try to say is that they need to keep the booking code the same since it is *A and not their metal (F and C have difference booking code). If it was on US, then you can book different legs in different classes of service.
If that is the case, book it all in C. The leg with only F should autobump you to F when booked in C. So in essence this is the same thing, but they might not have C inventory available on the flight for award even though F is available. Some UA flights actually have C booking even though there is no C cabin, just autoup to F. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.
Also, the 777 in C will be nicer than your F experience on the 2cabin aricraft (service night be better in 2cabin though if it is on the Airiis). Also, I think that they now have hot meals back in the 777 domestic C service!

Thanks! Just a quick update. Called in today and although the request was initially met with some skepticism as to whether it could be booked, the agent managed to get it booked without much problem.
