Star Alliance - problem with flights connection at LHR T1

Hi,
next december i'll fly from MXP to LAX and back.
i've bought a round trip ticket from LHR to LAX with NZ in business premier and i ve 'used my LH miles for the round trip ticket MXP-LHR

the return trip is:
NZ002 Depart SUN 03 JAN 2010 4.40 pmLOS ANGELES(Terminal 2)
Arrive MON 04 JAN 2010 10.40 am LONDON, HEATHROW (Terminal 1)

originally the flight from LHR to MXP was LH 1875 departing at 14.50 so i had plenty of time.
two days ago lufthansa told me that the flights were changed: outbound from LH 1880 departing 27 dec at 21.45 to LH 1878 departing at 18.35 and inbound from LH 1875 departing 4 jan at 14.30 to LH 1873 departing 4 jan at 12.45!!

do you think i have enough time 2 hours) to collect my bags and checked them to MXP? ( both flights are in T1)
may i send my bags from LAX to MXP ? (i have two different tickets)

Get your bags tagged through from LAX to MXP. 2 hours at LHR T1 is legal and comfortable, provided the NZ flight arrives on time

With no checked bags 2 hours would be comfortable connection as you could remain airside.

With checked bags it is slightly risky but probably okay.

If you have copys of both your tickets they should be able to interline your bags at your dep point. Then when you get to LHR just follow the signs for transit passangers. There should be no need to get your bags or clear customs till you get to MXP.
