Greetings All,
I have just had PC match my Hilton Honors VIP to PC Platinum, and I now have 20 nights booked at the San Diego Downtown hotel (might be spending another week there after that with some weekend breaks possibly). What else, promo wise or other secrets do I need to do to maximize my points earnings?
Also, I am currently set to get Airline Miles, what is best in the long run? using the hotel points, or getting the miles directly? Just want to make sure I get the best deal for myself, having a hard time determining what the direct conversion rate is vs. the bundle conversion award.

If you want to maximize your points, there is a whole thread devoted to promotions. Just read the instructions at the beginning of the thread on how to register.
I would say that selecting the hotel points seems the best choice (quite easy with bonuses & promotions to get numerous free nights)
Remember that if you plan to stay 60+nights in 365 days (and some stays at ICs) you could get the Royal Ambassador status with superb benefits.

[My mantra: sign up and sit back. Don't obsess over each individual promo. Do read the first post thoroughly.]

As for miles v. points, there is *no doubt* in my mind that you are better off with your earnings preference set to points. You can always transfer points to airline programs if needed.

If you are in SAN hopefully you spend at least some of that time at the brand new Indigo in Gaslamp... There is a 8K promo when booking a flexible rate AND there is a special 5K booking rate as well...it you work it right you should get more that enough for a free night just with two-four nights (may need to book two separate stays to capitalize on both though). I will be there for a couple of nights myself and looking forward to the windfall. As the previous posters have discussed - see the promo thread.
