Mileage Run Discussion - AA: AUS-FRA - more miles?
I need to fly AUS-FRA just about any time in Nov/Dec on AA and need miles.
I just came up with this:
18 Nov AUS-DFW-SFO-ORD-FRA
22 Nov FRA-DFW-LAX-SFO (overnight in SFO) SFO-LAX-AUS
16,570 x 2 = $931 AI @ 0.28cpm.
Is there a way to squeeze more out of this?

Just shooting from the hip here, but can you do a transit at LHR to an AA codeshare on BA metal?
You would miss out on the DEQMs for the LHR-FRA seg but what I am getting is:
ORD-FRA=4343 total miles
ORD-LHR-FRA=4453 total miles
With an AA codeshare from LHR-FRA you would get a 500 mile minimum on EQMs (1000 miles RT) and double RDMs for 2000 miles. I did a FRA-LHR-ORD connection this summer without any additional cost over a non-stop.
(Someone tell me if I'm wrong)

hi neighbor,
I think you've got a good route and don't see a whole lot of advantage (pun intended) to stopping over at LHR. can you stretch it without breaking the fare? probably. is it worth it? only you can answer that.
I lined up AUS-DFW-SFO-ORD-FRA-DFW-LAX-AUS for Feb this year, only to end up going AUS-DFW-FRA (got ORC though) and getting to spend most of the night at LAX and a reroute back through DFW due to a late departure from the latter. Not fun starting work late in the morning without a night of sleep that I had counted on, but that's what I got for stretching things.
My 2 cents worth is you have already planned a good mileage earning route to and from FRA. I'd go with it, but you might do better with more research.
bon voyage,
