Well so much for advanced seat selection by the Elite Plus Res Desk. I was checked in in 30D but when I got to the airport to pick up boarding pass, I was downgraded to 31D as there was a couple with baby so they moved me.

Boy are those seats on the 777-200 tight. I've taken flights in emergency exit seats so far till this one. And honestly I swear.. never again.

How on earth do Dutch aircraft interior designers expect their fellow Dutch travellers (who average 1.85m) to fit into those seats???

I think I'm going let my FB Gold status slide

KL always give preference to babies and will move elites to accommodate them - in short, it is better for everyone when babies are in a bassinet instead of mom's lap.

Next time (if there is one) don't book those seats.

I flew with AF on their 777 sardine tin and they were not too impressed when I pointed out that row 19 only had a 30" seat pitch compared with rows 20 and 21 which had 31". Malaysia Airlines 777's have a full 34" and are so much more comfortable ( who would have thought 3 inches makes a world of difference:D)
I have the opportunity to reach Plat this year but am in two minds...I only use AF because of convenience..
